Is Heidi’s Baby Weight Loss Realisitic?
According to eHow.com celebrities like Heidi Klum seem to be able to lose weight after a pregnancy much faster and easier than other people. You might wonder whether it’s really that easy or they just make it look that way. But most people don’t have paparazzi following them around ready to comment on every last ounce retained after pregnancy. According to the website Heidi Klum did the following to lose her baby weight and get back to looking like a supermodel.
Heidi’s first thing to do was to drink water. According to Heidi, she drinks what she describes as three “big” bottles of water each day to keep herself hydrated.
Heidi also hired a personal trainer. Heidi’s well-known trainer David Kirsch developed the “Heidi Klum Bikini Boot Camp” to help her lose baby weight, and he even wrote a book describing it. Heidi practiced the regime five times per week to get back to her normal physique.
Another thing Heidi did was to eat healthy. Along with the exercises, David Kirsch created a diet for Heidi to follow, but it is a diet that is very restrictive. The diet required she her morning Starbucks, fast food, processed food and even fruit. The diet emphasizes lean meat and vegetables for fast weight loss.
So is Heidi’s weight loss plan realistic? For the average person who doesn’t have access to a personal trainer, nutritionist, chef, and nanny to take care of the newborn this weight loss plan may not work. Most new mothers will not be able to devote five times a week in the gym simply because of the question, “Who will take care of the baby?”.
The answer lies in what you eat. Heidi’s diet is very restrictive; but gets results. However, losing 20 – 25 pounds for someone Heidi’s size will require tremendous will power. However, if your job depends on how you look then you should have a lot of motivation. Remember cutting out most foods and eating very little of everything else will not be easy.
Heidi’s normal weight should be around 130 pounds. If she gained 25 pounds during her pregnancy then her baby weight diet more than likely only allowed her to eat 700 to 900 calories per day. Since she worked out and possibly breast fed then she burned around 1,500 – 2,000 calories of fat each day. At this rate she was able to lose 20 – 25 pounds in 6 weeks.
Although Eat + Drink ≈ Anything does not promote the above type of extreme dieting it does allow for up 5% weight loss per month. And if you must lose the weight in 6 weeks, some people using the Weekly Menu have cut the assigned portions in half, but we don’t recommend that. Instead, we believe that losing 5% of your body fat per month is reasonable and doable. For a 155 pound person this would be around 8 pounds lost for the month or 12 pounds for the 6 weeks. It took nine months to gain the weight and it should take 2-3 months to get rid of it.
